This, this is the God we adore,
Our faithful, unchangeable friend,
Whose love is as great as his power,
And neither knows measure nor end:
'Tis Jesus, the first and the last,
Whose Spirit shall guide us safe home;
We'll praise him for all that is past,
And trust him for all that's to come.
Today was a bitter-sweet day for Woodside as they said a final farewell to their ladies class which was started during WWII, 76 years ago.
Women from the class provided a beautiful lunch followed by hot apple pie and ice-cream. Many old faces were able to make the day and share in the fellowship as well as many past speakers to the group. A total of 43 people were in attendance and made the day so special.
There was a short service of thanksgiving which included Holy Communion. Many tears of sadness and joy were shed, but as we continue to pray, the final 2 lines from the verses above echoes in our hearts and minds: We'll praise him for all that is past, And trust him for all that's to come.
A special thank you to Pat who has run the group diligently for many years. We pray as a Circuit that from these ashes a phoenix may rise to something new, a new tomorrow where God's love can continue to flourish within the surrounding area of Woodside.
